Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR):
I am a certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction teacher and teacher trainer. Along with my partner Hugh O’Neill, I teach MBSR worldwide, and most often in Southern California. MBSR is the gold standard of Contemporary Mindfulness training because of the 39 years of evidence-based research behind it and the worldwide practice of the techniques that continue to validate these beneficial findings to this day. MBSR was started by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 1979, and is primarily focused on enhancing health and well being; whether participants are already coping with a serious chronic illness, or are interested in prevention.
Learn more about the details of MBSR here, and find out about our next classes here.
Mindful Self Compassion (MSC):
I also teach this highly researched validated contemporary Compassion Skills training, (also known as MSC) and am a certified MSC teacher/teacher trainer. I was invited by the program’s originators: Dr. Christopher Germer and Dr. Kristin Neff to the very first MSC teacher training; one of thirty people from around the world to be trained to teach this life-changing curriculum.
I teach MSC both locally in Southern California and around the world. If you’ve been challenged with self-criticism and find it causes suffering in your life, you might want to explore MSC!

Mindfulness Teacher Training:
I am an MBSR teacher trainer and adjunct faculty at the UMASS Center for Mindfulness.
I also train MBSR teachers through the UC San Diego Mindfulness-Based Professional Training Institute. The international teacher trainings I offer are posted both on their websites and on this one. I am also a teacher trainer for The International Center for Mindful Self Compassion. Please see the events and the resource pages.
Hand Crafted Mindfulness Programs and Speakers Bureau:
Hugh and I have taken our decades of Mindfulness experience and training to adapt the essential teachings from MBSR and MSC, along with knowledge of neuroscience, and the research on Emotional Intelligence, to bring to businesses, schools, non-profit organizations, (both residents and staff at Battered Women’s organizations for example), and corporations. I speak at leadership and wellness conferences, and present at medical grand rounds. I am also a consultant for Medical Centers who want to integrate mindfulness into their services. Please see our workplace mindfulness page for more information here.
